Odd & Ends
Welcome
to the website of the Rieger
in the Christchurch Town Hall,
New Zealand
A
view to the booking office in the foyer of the Town Hall from the
entrance to the auditorium. Bookings for the OrganFest are heavy with
only a few seats left for the opening night.
On
the access door to the organ case there is a detailed plate which
has been signed by all the Rieger workmen.
Tracker
rods for the pedal pipes have to bend round many corners - this shows
one such corner where the rods come from the pedalboard to the left
and lead off at a 45° angle (See picture below for continuation)
The
cornets now have their tuning cottonwool removed (see Cornet
page)
A fter
turning right, the rods then are lead upwards and spread out towards
the pedal pipes. . .
One
of which, the largest Untersatz, is so big the pipe itself is behind
the organ case, in the blower room ! The mouth can be seen here from
the access ladder to the Hauptwerk.
