Austrian–born Dr Florian Pagitsch is a graduate of the Mozarteum in Salzburg and Professor of Organ at the University for music and performing arts in Vienna . He has performed in Europe, Japan, Australia and the USA. His programme will include Gigout’s Grand Choeur Dialogué and Toccata, Mulet’s Tu es Petra, his own transcription of Weber’s overture Der Freischütz and an improvisation. Andreas Meisner is a leading German organist from Altenberg Cathedral, who is making a welcome return tour of New Zealand. His programme will feature mainly transcriptions of favourite orchestral works, Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1 in D, Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite and Smetana’s tone poem The Moldau, as well as Toccatas by Bach and Vierne

SHOW WEEKEND TRUMPET AND ORGAN SPECTACULAR
Christchurch ’s resident Town Hall Organist teams up with the Associate Principal Trumpet of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra to explore the magnificent sonorities of duets for trumpet and organ. Martin will also feature organ music by Dietrich Buxtehude (died 300 years ago this year in 1707), items from his new CD of English music, and more of your requests.
